There’s a class for everyone at Christ Community Church!
Our nursery is staffed by volunteers who carefully watch over little ones each Sunday during both class time and congregational worship.
Gospel Light curriculum is taught up through sixth grade, with each lesson pointing children toward someday placing their personal faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who lived and died in obedience to His Heavenly Father. With joy we celebrate Christ’s resurrection and teach the importance of Christ’s followers learning to rely upon the Holy Spirit to glorify Him and to live a joyful life using the gifts God gave them.
Children meet together from 9 until 9:15 in preparation for their Bible lessons. During this interactive check-in time, children are challenged to do such things as learn the books of the Bible, compete in “sword drills,” hear a quick testimony of how God has been working in someone’s life, and often children volunteer to pray before being dismissed to their classes.
Children learn Biblical truths through age appropriate lessons and activities in the following groupings:
Preschool, including kindergarten
First & second grade
Third & fourth grade
Fifth & sixth grade
An additional option for families at our church happens during the sermon portion of the worship service. Families frequently sit together in our services, and after congregational singing, parents can choose to permit their child/ren to attend “5C” - “Christ Community Church’s Children’ Church.” There, the morning’s Bible lesson is expanded on “the big screen” with additional applications. Children often do a team relay or create a take-home craft and conclude the morning by earning Bible Bucks to “purchase” nice prizes through Bible Jeopardy.
After the worship service closes, parents pick up children from the nursery and from children’s church.
During the Christmas season and at other times, children participate in the corporate worship to demonstrate some of the truths they’ve been learning. The adults at Christ Community Church help the children feel they're important in the life of our church — because they are!
It is the policy of Christ Community Church to run background checks on every adult and helper in all the children’s programs.
