Passage: 2 Timothy 3:14 – 4:5

You can tell very quickly what degree of authority, if any, churches give the Bible. Is it the “divine and final authority” for Christians or simply another book of accumulated wisdom to be set alongside “The Tao of Pooh,” the writings of Gandhi, and the Quran? We at Christ Community Church believe that the Bible is God’s eternal truth, and because God Himself is trustworthy–we can rely on the Bible. The Bible is authoritative because it is inspired by God, it is sufficient for man’s needs- giving him knowledge of salvation, and it is necessary for refuting error. We live in a day and age when the Bible is more necessary than ever before – because people gravitate towards teaching that satisfies their itching ears.
