Pastor Jim Folk and his family

Jim Folk is the Pastor of Christ Community Church. Jim grew up in Media, Pennsylvania (outside of Philadelphia) and was an avid Phillies fan. After graduating from the College of Wooster (Ohio), Jim taught high school Math at Copley High School just outside of Akron from 1995 until 1998. While living in Ohio, Jim volunteered with a new church plant and was called into ministry in the spring of 1998. Jim attended Trinity Seminary in Deerfield, IL and married his wife Emily in 1999. Jim served for 4 years at an Evangelical Free Church in Big Rapids, MI. Jim was called to Christ Community Church in January 2007.

Jim enjoys swimming, golf, playing guitar, and listening to music — everything from jazz to classical to country. He also enjoys yard work, (as long as it’s not too much!) and he and his wife Emily enjoy having others over to their house to play board games.

His iPod playlist includes:

* Classical — The Brandenburg Concertos, J.S. Bach
* Jazz — Kind of Blue, Miles Davis; Take Five, Dave Brubeck
* Rock — most anything by The Allman Brothers
* Christian — Deep Enough to Dream, Christ Rice
* Worship — O Sacred Head Now Wounded
